Tamam Shud or Taman Shud?

So if the Persian phrase is Tamam Shud, why is it the Taman Shud Case?

As we all already know, the slip of paper found in the Somerton man's trousers bore the words "Tamam Shud", Persian for "It has ended", and yet the case is most often referred to as the "Taman Shud Case" and not the "Tamam Shud Case". The reason for this is the media.

When the slip of paper, and the finding of copy of the Rubaiyat were first reported, the media got it wrong. "Taman Shud" stuck, and even though subsequent reports got it correct, it was too late.
